 Mariana Alexander was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1958.
Nature and Art have always been main issues in her life and it is in this book that she joins her two passions, to show us fom her own personal vision how these two elements interact. For her Nature is Art and through these images she invites us to discover a world in which vision replaces written word.
An exhibition that took place at the Sofitel Hotel in Buenos Aires, displayed her photographic work done in the underground ice cave at the Perito Moreno Glacier in Calafate.
During several years she trodded her country covering an assignement which required photographs of churches built previous to the year 1900 achieving therefore a research non existent to this date.
A three month photographic exhibition took place at the Palais de Glace during the megaexhibition of Fernando Fader in which she presented her own interpretation of the work of the artist, having for this purpose walked in search of the places where the artist painted in the province of Córdoba.
It is since the year 2003 that she travels to Cambodia, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and in the near future Tibet and Bhutan photographing the features and cultural diversities of these asiatic countries, incorporating urban photography and portrait to her coming projects. |
